This is your chance to make some handmade gifts for your loved ones this Christmas. Or perhaps you just want to gift yourself a unique experience before the year is over! (This will be our last pottery course for 2026).
This is a four-week course running on Tuesday mornings from 9:30am to 12:00, with each 2.5-hour session giving you plenty of time to develop your skills across the four weeks.
Sessions for this course take place on:
Tuesday 10th November
Tuesday 17th November
Tuesday 24th November
Tuesday 1st December
(If you can’t make one of those dates you are welcome to do a make up class on another day).
You’ll be introduced to core handbuilding techniques—pinching, coiling, and slab building—while experimenting with a variety of tools, clay bodies and glazes. You’ll also have the opportunity to try the potter’s wheel, taking turns throwing and trimming.
Follow your own ideas or draw inspiration from prompts and demonstrations as you create cups, bowls, vases, planters, and more. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience. If your pieces are intended as Christmas gifts we can fast-track the firing schedule to make sure they are ready in time. Otherwise pieces will be ready to collect in January 2027.
