Pottery Hand-Building

Our hand-building pottery workshops are all about getting your hands into clay and seeing where it takes you. It’s a slower, more tactile way of working, with plenty of room to explore, experiment, and learn by doing. Forms grow gradually, ideas shift as you work, and the process is just as important as the finished piece.

You can join a one-off taster to try out hand-building and get a feel for the material, or take part in a regular course where skills build naturally from week to week. The longer format gives you time to settle in, play with ideas, and develop more confidence with various techniques.

The workshops are relaxed, friendly, and supportive, with space to chat, concentrate, and enjoy working with clay at your own pace. You’ll leave with finished work, new skills, and the urge to keep making.
