Abstract Acrylic Landscapes

An exploratory painting workshop inspired by the colours, atmosphere, and shifting moods of local landscapes. Working with acrylic paint, you’ll build layered compositions that encourage experimentation, expressive mark-making, and painting without worrying about perfection.

You’re invited to bring a favourite photograph of a landscape that holds meaning for you, choose from studio reference images, or work from imagination. We’ll begin by blocking in simple elements such as sky, mountains, lakes, and horizon lines, gradually building depth through layers of colour, texture, and gesture.

Acrylic paint allows you to work quickly, adjust shapes, and respond intuitively as your painting develops. We’ll explore softening edges, suggesting mist and clouds, and creating light and movement while keeping the work loose and atmospheric.

This workshop focuses on capturing the feeling and memory of landscape rather than precise representation, and offers space to experiment, trust your eye, and follow the painting as it evolves.

You’ll leave with an abstract landscape that reflects both your creative exploration and your connection to place and experience.

Loosen up, layer freely, paint the feeling of place.
