Studio Update - September 2026

Hi everyone,

What a summer it’s been! Thank you all for making it such a busy, joyful one at the studio, it’s been wonderful having so many of you through the doors. Now that we’re heading into September and October, I wanted to share what’s coming up.

Sewing is back!

We’ve been deep in pottery these last few months, so I’m genuinely excited to get back into sewing. First up is a Freestyle Sewing & Upcycling Workshop this Saturday19th September, 9:30–12:00. Bring some clothes from your wardrobe that you’d like to reimagine or dig into the overflowing fabric stash at the studio and let me help you sew up something fun. There are only a couple of spots left so get in quick.

Next Saturday 26th September, 10:00–14:00, we’re running a Bojagi-inspired workshop exploring traditional Korean patchwork. I’m really excited about this one, and I’ll be writing more about the process as part of my collaboration with Bernina, coming soon, if you’d like to read up more on this traditional textile art.

Ceramic Painting — a new twist on Paint Night

On the last Friday of every month we host a social Paint Night event at Make Space. This month we’re doing things a little differently. Join us for a fun evening painting on ceramics on Friday 25th September, 6:00–8:00pm. I’ve picked up some new materials I can’t wait to try: watercolour-style paints, underglaze pencils, fine liners, plus our usual Speedball underglazes and a range of professional glazes from Amaco, Potter’s Choice, Botz and more. You can hand-select the bisque ware you’d like to paint on the night, we have a selection of cups, side plates, bud vases, bowls and more.

Pottery every Tuesday

We’ve got two sessions running each week: a morning class from 9:30–12:00, and an evening one from 5:30–8:00pm. You can sign up for a full four-week course at or just drop in for a one-off trial if you want to try it out first.

Open Studio

If you’ve got your own projects on the go and just want the space to work on them, come along to Open Studio, currently scheduled for Thursday 24th September and Friday 2nd October 9:00–12:00.

Summer Clay Club Collection

If you took part in our holiday Clay Club Program here’s a quick update: your pieces have had the chance to dry thoroughly over the past few weeks and have been through their first bisque firing in the kiln. They will be hand-glazed by me this week and will have their second kiln firing soon. Feel free to check in on the progress later next week. Collection should be possible in the last week of September.

Looking ahead

I’m still shaping the workshop calendar for October and November — so if there’s something you’d still like to learn in 2026, now’s the time to tell me. I’d love to hear your ideas.

See you in the studio soon,

Leanne
